Economic Empowerment
Women are a major factor in our country's economic picture with opportunities and challenges unparalleled in our country's history. More specifically, more than 8,000 women in Abilene, Texas are heads of households (U.S. Census).  Additionally, nearly 43% of the full-time work force in Abilene are women.

Program Overview:

The Alliance for Women & Children recognizes the importance of helping women be more equipped to handle the variety of financial issues that arise.  The Women's Economic Empowerment Program, (WEE) was created to increase women's knowledge, skills, and confidence to move their financial lives forward.  We are a provider for the U.S. Department of Labor Women's Bureau.

WEE provides hands-on training to facilitate and integrate the learned concepts with real-life application.  Courses are conducted in person by trained professionals.  Courses can also be taken online with assistance from our organization.
