Alliance Women’s Health Awareness is focused on medically underserved women in a 23-county area of West Central Texas. To qualify for services, women must meet residency, income, age, insurance and health guidelines. To accommodate the diverse community, all health education and information is made available in English and Spanish.
In 2008, the Alliance for Women & Children provided more than services to more than 1,400 women through the Women’s Health program.
The Women’s Health Awareness program is a BCCS provider which means that those diagnosed through this program with invasive cancer qualify for the “Medicaid Treatment Act” passed by the Texas Legislature in 2001. This provides immediate coverage for treatment through Medicaid.
